CAROLINE HANANIA was born in the Lebanon, where her father was a Dean at the American University of Beirut. Educated in England, she studied Art at The Camberwell School of Art, in London and then at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Rome, Italy.
For well over thirty years, Caroline has worked as a Production Designer for feature films and Television working both in Europe and here in the U.S. Some of her credits include 'Serendipity', 'Town and Country', 'Evening' and more recently the HBO movie 'The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks'. She has just completed designing all four seasons of 'Turn - Washington's Spies' for AMC, set during the Revolutionary War.
Caroline lives with her husband on their vineyard in Southern Monterey County and has her own studio, where she paints, draws, builds ceramics and more recently she has been working on Woodcuts and Etching. She works in various mediums and her subjects are drawn from her surroundings, nature, the landscape and narrative pieces that involve a story telling element taken from people in social situations.
